Trek Prep Fitness Testimonials

In 2011 I trekked to, and summated Island peak (6200m) with Richard Gorey. Before we departed Richard was a wealth of knowledge with his advice on equipment and preparation. Once in the Himalayas Richards knowledge of the of the area was excellent. Whilst on the climb I suffered from a bad case of altitude sickness. It was only because of Richards expertise and motivation/ encouragement the I was able to reach the Summit. I'll definitely be climbing with Richard in the future. Bigger and Better!

Richard Gorey organised an amazing and successful trip to Everest Base camp for me and seven friends. Richard prepared us well by holding information evenings, training walks and provided endless advice on everything from travelling, medical requirements to local custom. Richard has great knowledge and experience and his enthusiasm is contagious. This was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I have known Richard for over 4 years now. In that time he has trekked and climbed with the NEAT company 3 times in the capacity of a trekker and as an assistant guide and tour leader on treks and climbs. Richard has also organised 2 treks for other people through NEAT. He has been a great friend to us all at NEAT and to my family. Richard's knowledge of trekking and climbing trekking peaks in Nepal is very good and he always works hard to ensure the people in his party have the best possible experience and are safe every step of the way. We always look forward to meeting the groups that Richard brings or sends. I have no hesitation in recommending Richard and his training company to anyone wishing to come and visit Nepal or trek in any other country.

Chandra Tamang, NEAT Trekking

Dear Richard
Thanks for your help preparing for our trek around the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. Your knowledge of the area and experience of trekking was of great benefit to us, especially since we were complete novices in the beginning. With your advice and the early training we did, we were able to really get into the trip. Although it was tough, we made it over the Thorong-La Pass, and that is a day I will always remember (attached is a photo of us at the pass). Our guide and porter from NEAT were terrific, and we have made some new friends amongst them. They understood that we were there for the challenge but also a holiday, so let us go at our own pace and kept it fun and interesting. As you know, the scenery over there is spectacular and the culture so intriguing, so I am looking forward to my next chance to go. All the best
